Memory

Long Memory — Basic Settings

Configure project name and enable/disable your long memory project.

The Basic tab establishes the identity of your long memory project and controls whether it accepts memory operations.

Project Name

Identifies your long memory project within your account. Must be unique across all long memory projects.

Purpose: Used for dashboard organization, API key association, and identifying which memory store your agent connects to. Choose a name that reflects the agent, application, or user group this memory serves.

Enable Project

Toggle to activate or deactivate the project. When disabled, all memory operations — both store and search — return an error.

Purpose:

  • Maintenance windows — Disable before running migrations or configuration changes
  • Debugging — Pause memory writes while investigating issues
  • Cost control — Temporarily stop memory accumulation when not needed
  • Feature toggling — Enable/disable memory capability per environment

Disabling a project does not delete existing memories. Re-enabling restores full access to stored data.

Next Steps

Proceed to Storage to configure record expiration and conflict resolution.
